Is Taking Dydrogesterone While Being Pregnant With A Boy Baby Safe?
Hi, I am 9 weeks 3 days pregnant and take dydrogesterone due to spotting. I wonder what effects might this have if the baby is a boy. I ve heard that only until 12 weeks is acceptable to take it due to a danger baby s boy genitals not to be formed as they should. Is that true? Thank you!
Hello dear I understand your concern Just be relax. Dydrogesterone is completely safe during the first trimester of the pregnancy. It is generally given in high risk pregnancy to maintain the pregnancy/prevent miscarriage and to promote the growth of the baby. It make the uterine environment favorable for the pregnancy. You should take it under the advice of the gynecologist and regular follow up by USG scan is necessary. Take bed rest till the spotting will disappear. Alos take folic acid supplements with the healthy diet Hope this may help you
