Is Taking Folic Acid Regularly Safe While Trying To Conceive?

My doc advised me to take LETOV 2.5, 15 tablets,from 3rd of my periods for 5days. i want to know the reason why i ask to take this, i am trying to get conceive for the past 6months. i had an abortion on may 2013. taking folic acid regularly.... worried alot....:-( help me.... thanks.

Hi and welcome to HCM. Letrozole (also known as Femara) is being used to help women with fertility issues. It can cause a woman to ovulate, or in some cases produce more than one egg for ovulation. Letrozole is completely gone from your body in 9 days, which means it is not in your bloodstream by the time pregnancy occurs. When used in this manner for infertility, Letrozole does not increase the risk of miscarriage or birth defects. Folic acid is good and you can continue. All the best
