Is Taking Sleeping Pill While Having Cold, Sore Throat And Fever Safe?

Hi I took a sleeping pill in the afternoon to help me sleep as i'm having really bad cold, sore throat and fever as well....i wanna did I do something wrong?? does it gonna have any side-effects? when I woke up after 6 hours mu body felt very sore and I almost fainted...
