Is The Blackness On The Nose Tip Due To High Exposure To Sunlight?

I have a co-worker who is very healthy and active. Healthy BMI. No smoking. Little drinking. Although he does admit to a lot of sun exposure in his life. He s in his 50 s. He asked me today (I m a nurse) why the tip of his nose is starting to turn black...and it certainly is turning black. It has been red (like a stereotypical alcoholic s nose) since I ve known him, but the blackness is something new. Could this just be from the sun exposure? Could it mean something more serious?

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
I really appreciate your concern looking to the history given here I could say that because of the sun exposure this type of black lesion on the tip of nose is very less likely in my opinion this could be fungal infection and on tentative basis this could be treated with antifungal cream, hope this information helps you, have a great day.
