i had a nose bleed earlier today and it gushed out for the best part of 10 minutes and then it stopped, and i didn't find it a problem. until I ended up with a aching pain on the inside of my nose. I previously broke my nose a couple of years back and since then never had a nose bleed. I had a cigeratte and my nose started bleeding again and thats when i got mild headache. Do i need to be conserned?
dear cigarette smoke can cause nasal mucosa irritation and inflammation can cause bleeding,.other possibilities like dryness of mucosa, nasal priking, hypertension, thtombocytopenias, sinusitis, allergic rhinitis etc can cause nose bleed.
so stop smoking, use normal saline nasal spray ,video humidifier in room.if severe bleed you can use nasal packing.still symptoms not improved please consult your Ent surgeon he will examine and treat you accordingly. I think I answered to your question if you have any questions please feel free to ask.
