Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I have had several health issues over the last three years. I am a 60 yr old female, who had a full hysterectomy in 2007; however, have been suffering with menstrual-like cramps. They can be intense to the point of having to lie down. I also have chronic diarrhea that has not been resolved yet. Is it possible that the cramping is coming from rectum or colon? SORRY, DID NOT REALIZE THIS IS A FEE FOR THIS SITE. PLEASE DELETE MY INQUIRY. THANK YOU.
Noted the history of a 60 year old female having had full hysterectomy in 2007, severe cramps like menstruation but also have chronic unresolved diarrhea. With the history of chronic unresolved diarrhea the cramps can be explained as you already had the uterus removed and are 60 years old. The cause can be found by the following ways: Consult a Gastroenterologist for detailed history, clinical evaluation and examination followed by relevant investigations: Tests of stool for 3 continuous days. Tests of blood. Ultrasonography and CT scan of abdomen if required. Colonoscopy. All these help to get a proper diagnosis and thus allow you to get an appropriate management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
