Is The Hand And Feet Mouth Disease Infectious?

HI IAM A DAYCARE TEACHER AND THERE ARE CHILDREN IN MY ROOM OUT WITH THE HAND AND FEET MOUTH DISEASE. ONE HAS RETURNED AFTER BEING OUT FOR TWO DAYS. HE STILL HAVE BLISTERS AND CRUSTY SORES EXPOSED. NOW IAM HAVING SORE SPOTS IN MY MOUTH AND MY TASTES BUD IS BITTER. DO I NEED TO SEE A DOCTOR?

Hello,

I think you may have hand, foot and mouth disease because it's contagious. You don't need to see a doctor because it's not dangerous and doesn't require specific treatment. You can only take Cetirizine or any other antihistamines for itching and Advil or Acetaminophen for fever. It is a viral infection and can resolve on its own in 3 days.
