General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, I really appreciate your concern. Normal fetal heart rate usually ranges from 120 to 170 beats per minute (bpm) in the in utero period. The normal range varies during gestation. At 12 week of pregnancy it increases to around 170 bpm. After 14th week it starts decresing and at time of delivery it remains around 130 bpm.
So there is nothing to worry about heart beat of 164 at 12 weeks of pregnancy. Your baby's heart is perfectly beating at this moment. Do have regular ante-natal check ups and ultra sound and follow the instruction of your obstetrician.
Hope my answer has solved your query. Take Care.
Thank you.
