Is The Lower Back Pain Normal After A Abdominal Myomectomy Surgery?
I had abdominal myomectomy surgery 6 weeks ago, i had 4 fibroids, 1 was the size of a large egg. My incision is approx. 4 inches long, bikini cut. I am at week 6 recovering, I still hurt, have a lot of lower back pain and when I squat down or lift things my insides hurt a lot. Hurts to still lay on my sides. Not sure how long it takes to feel better, but someone please tell me if this is normal and when I should start feeling better.
Hi, Usually after undergoing abdominal surgery, it may take 4 to 6 weeks to get complete recovery. This period may differ from person to person. Better to avoid lifting weights till two completed months after surgery. You can do your regular work. If the pain persist take symptomatic treatment with analgesics. Possibly this will help in releiving the symptoms. If the symptoms persist even after taking medicines, consult gynecologist once, get examined and go for ultrasound. Ultrasound helps in clearing the doubts regarding healing of wounds and to rule out other possible causes like pelvic infection etc. Then treatment can be planned according to the findings. Take care.
