Is The Procedure Of Abortion Painful?

I am 28 year old married female... I had 2 tabs of misoprostol but I m still pregnant and bleeding is still continue... I consult a Gynecologist who suggest me for ultrasound and after that abortion procedure will be done. What will be the procedure... I ve li l bit tension about that. Is it more painful???

Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
It seems you had taken Mifepristine pill followed by Misoprostol 2 pills for medical termination of pregnancy.. it has started with bleeding, but pregnancy still not terminated.
Your doctor would see position of the pregnancy expulsion following the pills.. & in case it's found to be incomplete expulsion -they may think of-
- IV drips with medicines to bring about contraction of uterus & expulsion of products of conception,.. here you may feel uterus contracting & causing pain .. like miniature labor pains.
- surgical removal of the products of conception becomes essential in some cases.. specially when the bleeding is profuse... such procedure is done under short acting anesthesia .. so it's painless.
* To avoid such complications it is always advised to go for medical termination of pregnancy under able guidance of a gynecologist.
