Is The Sensation Of Pins And Needles Caused Due To BP?

I have been feeling that sensation of pins&needles on my hands and about a month ago my legs felt very cold at times. At night while sleeping, my arms gets the same sensation and I keep rolling in bed for a better position to sleep. Went to CVS and had Blood pressure taken by one of those automatic machines and it said I had Highblood pressure. Are these symptoms I described related to Highblood Pressure?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

High blood pressure itself does not cause pins and needles or feeling very cold. These may be symptoms of anxiety or a neurological condition.

You will need to see your doctor and have a thorough examination, including a neurological exam. I would also recommend some basic tests such as:
- CBC, ERS,
- TSH, FT4
- basic metabolic profile

If all these come out normal then very likely it is anxiety the cause of your symptoms.

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
