Is The Shooting And Intense Pain Around The Scar Area Of Myomectomy Normal ?
I had a myomectomy 9weeks ago. I have very recently returned to work. Whilst at home during my recovery time, pain was non existence so therefore no longer needed pain relief, although the scar area at times can be tender to touch. Since returning back to work, pain around the scar area becomes intense and i experience shooting pains. I am a nurse and i work full time, and this job entails being on your feet constanly, thankfully i am on reduced hours because how i feel at present i cannot endure a full shift. My question is this pain normal and long will experience this pain until it fades,.
Hi, Thanks for the query. Some amount of pain at the scar area can be seen after surgery. As the pain is severe, you once check for any signs of infection at the scar area. After excluding that, if pain persists, once go for ultrasound. If everything is normal, no need to worry. Taking symptomatic treatment may help. Avoid lifting weights, constipation. Take high fiber diet, plenty of fluids. Possibly your pain will subside soon. Take care.
