Is The Spiculated Mass In The Lung Cancerous?

What is the likelihood that a spiculated mass, measuring 1.5 cm, located in the upper right lobe of a lung is cancerous if it has not shown any noticeable growth in four months? If cancerous, given the time lapse (with no growth) and location (peripheral area of lung) what is the likelihood of the various types of lung cancer (e.g., adenocarcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, large cell carcinoma, small cell carcinoma, any carcinoid, etc)? With complications, such as COPD, and the inability to obtain an endoscope biopsy sample of cells (due to location of the mass), what is the relative danger of waiting two months for another CT scan versus attempting a needle biopsy, with the accompanying risk of a collapsed lung?

Hi
The spiculated mass in upper lobe of lung needs urgent CT guided biopsy to rule out malignancy.
If found to be malignant then EGFR and ALK and mutation tests need to be done for working of oral chemotherapy tablets like erlotinib and crizotinib.
Risk of collapsed lung is very less with needle biopsy and one must not wait for 2 months for another CT scan as the tumour spreads very rapidly if found malignant but should undergo immediate CT guided biopsy from space occupying lesion in lungs.
