Is The Tingling In Hands And Legs An Anxiety Issue Or RLS?
My husband who is 56 yrs old went into afib in October of last year; after an unsuccessful cardio version and 6 weeks of Multaq, the doctor suggested a cardio ablation. When he was in afib, he had tingling in his hands and legs, and then he would check his pulse and be in afib. The cardio version was successful but he still has the tingling, is this an anxiety issue, RLS or something else?
As his cardiac symptoms has improved a lot and he still has tingling sensation. His symptoms considering his age can occur due to some nutritional deficiency. Iron deficiency anaemia is one of common cause of such symptoms in heart patients. Low vitamin B12 levels are also possible cause for his symptoms and these deficiencies can cause anxiety and restlessness apart from numbness. Thyroid abnormalities can also cause such symptoms. Get his full blood work done to rule out the conditions. Also visit his doctor for reevaluation of his cardiac status.
RLS can be the possibility but in RLS symptoms usually occur during sleep and the has tingling in day time also. In B12 deficiency symptoms of RLS get aggravated.
Visit a psychiatrist if symptoms persist and to rule out anxiety.
Thanks, Take care
