Is The Uterus Removal Essential For A 60 Year Old Diabetic?

Hi .. My mother had been diagnosed with polyp which is removed with surgery last week..and they also did D&C .Now the doctor is asking that we need to remove the uterous based on the results received from the D&C reports. I read online and found that it can be avoided according the newer studies in many cases. How do we be sure about it now? She is 60 and is diabetic ..we dont want to take any risks..
