Is There A Beta-blocker In The Prescription?
Hi Dr. Grief, I have been scheduled for a C.T. Scan for my heart. The instruction sheet sent to me indicated that my doctor should have prescribed a beta-blocker for my blood pressure. Currently, my prescribed drugs are Lipitor, Inhibace, Metformin, Flomax. Is any one of these drugs a beta-blocker ? Thank you for your assistance. Kenneth Wong email: YYYY@YYYY

From the list of drugs you have presented, there is no beta blocker but there is a drug for high blood pressure (Inhibace). Your doctor probably knows why he/she preferred inhibace to beta blocker. Some drugs are contra indicated in some patients. If it is possible to get back to your attending physician, I would suggest you ask him/her why. If it is not possible, then continue the drugs you have been prescribed.
