Hi...I had sex with my wife last night(17th day of her menstrual cycle) & condom broken up. We don't want her to get pregnant at least for next 2 years as newly married. Please suggest any pills to avoid pregnancy and also the precautions to be taken in future. Thank you...

Hi. There can be pregnancy at 17th day of, but since this happened last night only, so she can take pill 72 right now, which is an emergency contraceptive to be taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex, earlier the better.
For future safety , she should use combined oral contraceptive pills after consulting her Dr. and may continue for 2 years safely, if there is no contraindication.
