Is There A Possibility Of Improving The Squint Eye Problem By Exercises?

dear Doctor, my son having +7 power in his right eye and having a squint eye problem too. He is 5 years old, In Coimbatore, India doctors adviced to do some exercises by closing the left eye with patch and making him to do minute works like painting, drawing, reading, writing and playing video games. Is there any chance to improves his vision by doing this? Please answer.

Hello
It seems from the history that your son is having squint with hypermetropia in right eye. The treatment is by treatment to prevent ambylopia by patching the normal left eye and stimulating the squint eye by making him to do near works like painting, reading...
Once the ambylopia is treated the squint needs to be corrected by surgery if the squint is not getting treated by this treatment and spectacles.
Hence the treatment advised by your doctor is in right direction and do continue it.
