Is There A Risk Of HCV After Cut Caused At Parlour?

Went to the Salon yeterday. Had a manicure done, the lady pushed my cuticles back and cut some. As she cut one, i believe she pulled it instead and saw red dot of blood. Also as she was filing my nails she was a bit rough a d scratched the side of my skin by the cuticles, but did not bleed. There was no bleeding. When i came home I washed with soap and warm water, pressed against where I felt a sting and bled a bit. Am I at risk of HCV?

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM.

Theoretically, there is a risk as Hepatitis C virus can survive outside the body at room temperature, on environmental surfaces, for at least 16 hours but no longer than 4 days.

The risk is low though, by sharing personal care items, that may have come in contact with the blood of an infected person.

take care
regards
