Is There An Alternative For Knee Replacement Surgery For Rhumatoid Arthritis?

sir my mother 60 years of age suffers from rhumatoid arthritis. her doctor had suggested knee replacement,as her cartilage on left knee is reduced a lot, and she feels pain while walking,climbing stairs,or during night too. sir she is not agreeing for knee replacement is there any other alternative,or particular medicine or exercise wchich can help her.
