Is There Any Chances Of Getting Pregnant Even After Taking Unwanted 72 Within 12 Hours After Unprotected Sex?

Hi Dr....my period occured on 18th September & lasted till 21st. I had unprotected sex on 1st october & took unwanted 72 on 2nd october morning within 12hrs. Pls guide if there are any chances of getting pregnant & also recommend if I can take another dose

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

The unwanted 72 pill can be taken within 72 hours of intercourse and it will give protection. But failure rate is seen in 1% of women using these pill.
so you are protected as you took pill within 12 hours of the act.
but please remember that i pill is emergency contraceptive pill only and it should not be used as regular contraceptive method. No need for another dose

it can cause side effects like nausea, menstrual irregularities etc with repeated use.

so you better choose some other regular contraceptive method in future.
