Pathologist and Microbiologist, Dr. Jyothi B L's Response
Hi, It appears to be a smear made from the inner part of the cervix. It is called as the endo cervix. Outer part is called as the ecto cervix. Study shows that there is infection from gram negative bacilli, which has led to presence of inflammatory cells, i.e. neutrophils or pus cells. It is very common to have bacterial infection and requires local antibiotic douching or therapy for treatment Hope this helps. Any further query, happy to help again. Dr. Jyothi BL
