i am a rn and have always had a normal ecg. I also teach nursing and have the students practice ecg's on all of us. two times it has read borderline left axis deviation, borderline prolonged qt interval. i am over weight but that is not new, i do not have htn or dm

Hi Left axis deviation is commonly seen with left ventricular hypertrophy. Also it is a normal variant in obese individuals. Regarding prolonged QT interval, it can be present in 2.5percent of normal individuals. However it can't be passed out as normal if you are symptomatic like episodes of fainting, palpitations.
