Hello and welcome to HCM,
The
CT scan shows presence of enlarged lymph nodes in the abdomen.
The enlarged lymph nodes are mesenteric in origin.
Mesenteric lymph nodes are associated or are present within the mesentery.
Mesenteric lymphadenitis refers to inflammation of the lymph nodes.
Enlarged lymph nodes occur due to infection, inflammation, or neoplastic enlargement.
The type of lesion in the lymph nodes can be determined be aspiration cytology or
biopsy.
Ct guided aspiration of the cellular material of the lymph nodes can be done.
The cellular material is spread and stained with appropriate stain.
This investigation will determine the pathology in the lymph nodes.
Excision biopsy whether required or not will be decided by your doctor.
Thanks and take care
