Is There Any Doctor Available To Analyse This Report?
Hi
My daughter recently had a serum gt test and the results came back at 176. 4 weeks later, they have dropped to 146. This is still high I understand. What should she be asking her GP for, apart from advice on alcohol intake? She does, by her own admission, binge drink - but not (I would have thought) to the extent that she could be damaging her liver.
Increased GGT indicates alcoholic liver injury. It is important to know bilirubin level, viral markers, lipid profile. Ultrasound of abdomen should be done.
She should take tablet Ursodeoxycholic acid 300 mg twice daily for three months. It will help in regeneration of liver cells.
She should avoid red meat and high fat milk products. Cook food in olive or canola oil. She should completely avoid alcohol. Take lot of fruits and vegetables.
Hope I have answered your question. Take Care Dr.Indu Bhushan
