Is There Any Doctor Available To Interpret This Report?
Hello, my mom has just recieved results from a spinal MRI. I am wondering what the likelyhood of her becoming immobilized permenantly is. These are her results..severe stenosis of lumbar, degenerative endplate changes, rotoscoliosis, multi level degenerative changes, extensive abnormal fracture of the pedicel lumbar 2 degenerative thorasic area, remote anterior compression.
Your mother has problems with her lumbar spine at more than one level. It is important that she consults a spine surgeon and gets evaluated for the feasibility of lower spine surgery. It is best to stabilize the degenerative changes before they become more extensive. If neglected, almost all patients will continue to have a bad quality of life including possible lower limb immobilization.
