Is There Any Doctor Available To Interpret This Report?
Hi, I just had some tests done and my white blood cell count was high (12.1) also I had high lymphocytes (4.7) also had a high c reactive protein (7.3) I have to wait for a few days to see my doctor, was just a little worried, are these results a big deal? I am having pain and swelling in my fingers as well....
Pathologist and Microbiologist, Dr. Jyothi B L's Response
Hi, Normal WBC count varies from 4-11 thousand in adults and 12.1 is mildly raised due to mild raise in lymphocytes. High C reactive protein indicates active inflammation and history of pain and swelling in fingers could be the cause.
The results are not to be worried about except for C-reactive protein. Correlation with possible arthritis in fingers needs to be related to. If more details are available (clinical history, x ray findings, other investigations for antibodies), I could help you more. Any further queries, happy to help you again. Dr. Jyothi BL
