Is There Any Link Between Breast Feeing And Excessive Palpitations?

I am 11 weeks post partum, and breastfeeding. 11 years ago I was diagnosed with MVP. For the past 2.5 weeks I've been experiencing over 100 palpitations a day. This by far beats the usual 2 or 3 a day. I saw my cardiologist last week. The EKG was normal, Echo normal, and thyroid is normal. After wearing a heart monitor for 24 hours, the Dr. called and told me I was experiencing too many heart beats. He told me that everything is fine, but didn't know why I am having them. Is there a link between breastfeeding and excessive
palpitations?

Hi,welcome to HCM,
Breast feeding has absolutely no correlation to increased heart rate in your case.
this is most likely related to underlying MVP.This on certain occasions can develop sudden element of regurgitation,that can create increased backward flow with increased heart rate.Drugs like metoprolol with amiodarone can control the heart rate.repeat your tests after 6 momths,consult your cardiologist for further queries.
