Is There Any Medication I Should Stay Away From While On Depoprovera? Antibiotics?

Hi I just started taking Depo Provera birth control shot... first time... im also taking a Pre Work out called: Magnum Heat Accelerated. Its a fat burner . that speeds up metabolism , thermal - makes me sweat during workout, epinephrine .... adreneline during workout. im wondering if there are any drug interations with depo provera. If it will lessen the effecicy of depo??????? and also i know that when u take birth control pills... if u are on antibiotics.... that they cancel eachother out, making the women able to get pregnant. Is there any medication i should stay away from while on Depoprovera?? antibiotics??

Hello
Thank you for your query.
Almost 162 medications are known to cause drug interactions with Depo provera.
These include
Adderall (amphetamine/dextroamphetamine)
albuterol
Ambien (zolpidem)
Cymbalta (duloxetine)
ibuprofen
Klonopin (clonazepam)
Lamictal (lamotrigine)
levothyroxine
Lexapro (escitalopram)
multivitamin
omeprazole
prednisone
Singulair (montelukast)
Synthroid (levothyroxine)
Topamax (topiramate)
trazodone
Vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin)
Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol)
Zoloft (sertraline)
Zyrtec (cetirizine)

These are not common medications, and very few antibiotics affect efficiency of Depo provera, only griseofulvin and HIV medications are known to do so.
A drug that speeds up metabolism would lead to rapid metabolization of Depo , and theoretically lessen its duration of action.
Discuss this with your healthcare provider next time.
Take care.
