Is There Any Other Treatment For Broken Ankle Other Than Surgery?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...i broke my ankle and opted out of surgery. Currently, this is my 3rd week in a cast. I elevate my leg most of the time. Sometimes, I feel a burning sensation (besides the pain) and when i need to get out of bed, the blood rushes down to my toes. Is that normal? Can i heal without surgery? my doctor told me that most likely i will get arthritis. Please advise,Thank you
