Is There Any Other Treatment For Depression And Anger Other Than Psychiatric Prescription Drugs ?

Is there a remedy for mental depression and anger other than the one by a Psychiatrist whose prescriptions have resulted in a lot of side effects? The patient is a female, aged 41, has a daughter, abecomes so angry at times that she runs amuck , is being treated by a Psychiatrist, but the tablet has increased her weight from 70kgs to 85 kgs in 6 months, as a result of which she has severe pain in the knees and legs, and suffers without sleep.

Family support is also required.
her loved ones can really help her a lot.

her emotional needs should be satisfied.

Your concern about her weight gain is understandable. It is indeed a side effect of some medication. However, sleep disturbance is usually a symptom of disease she is suffering from. Going by your description, it does not appear to be depression. Hence, it is advisable to take a second opinion from another psychiatrist. There are many treatment options, some of them without major side effects. Only Counselling and other therapies may be of little help in this patient
