Is There Any Possibility Of Pregnancy?

Due my period on 15/1/14, had a speckle of blood on toilet tissue this morning, feeling nausea, funny taste in mouth, certain smells turning my stomach, dome pregnancy test and it was negative. Very light cramps today. I was sure I would see positive test, have I tested too early or is just the beginning of my period.

Hi,

You can wait for a week (maximum 45 days from first day of last menstrual cycle). As you experience cramps and spotting, just relax yourself & take rest. Don't strain. It could be either early signs of pregnancy or outcome of upcoming periods.

I advise you:
* Do serum beta HCG test which is more reliable than HPT
* Take nutritious diet
* Take plenty of fluids
* Consult your gynecologist for further assistance.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Yogapriya Vasudevan, General & Family Physician
