Is There Any Pregnancy Hope With Very Light Bleeding And No Clots?

Hi Dr :)
Im 22years old! My period was 6 days late. It started yesterday morning.
Its strange this time around , theres no need to use a tampon ( I use about 4 a day)
Its dark red .. but no sign of clots whatsoever. Ive been having painful tummy & viginal cramps.
This morning when I woke there where 4 clots in the blood.
Just wondering if theres any hope for a possible pregnancy ?

Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.

It is not uncommon for patients who ARE pregnant to experience an initial delay in their period followed by bleeding that they associate with a period, but is actually related to implantation bleeding OR a miscarriage. It is very important that you take a pregnancy test. If the test is negative, then the extra bleeding is likely related to the delay in your period and the extra buildup of the uterine lining. If the pregnancy test is positive OR if the the test is negative and the bleeding continues abnormally, then contact your doctor.

I hope that this helps and good luck!
