Is There Any Problem For Rat Bite On The Finger?

Hi
I am 26 years old. 3 weeks before i was sleeping at my courtyard, in midnight i felt somepain in my finger, then i wake up i check my finger it had some blood spots , at the same time i saw an rat runnig from there. but it doesn't affect me untill now. but i share this with my friends they said to consult with doctor, so i just want to know it could affect me at any way......... pls replyme

Hello,
Welcome to HCM,

Rat is not a know reservoir of rabies and not known to transmit rabies.

So rat bite will not transmit rabies. The wound should be washed thoroughly with water.

Inj TT, if not taken in last 5 years. There is no need of anti rabies vaccine.

Apply oint T Bact over the wound. Nothing is required apart from this.
