Hi, my wife is 31 weeks pregnant. USG report says that AC diameters of left and right kidney are 6.4 and 6.6 mm and all others are in normal limit. Is it any problem with the kidneys. I need solution at YYYY@YYYY Please. Azim YYYY@YYYY
The AP (anteroposterior) diameter of the kidneys in the fetus is regularly measured and is supposed to be normal if it is below 8 mm in 27 - 33 weeks. Therefore there is no reason to worry for you and the kidneys are normal. The AP diameter of kidneys are of importance when there is significant increase in the measurements from a prior ultrasound scan. When present, it can be due to obstruction in the urinary system.
