Is There Any Risk Of Contracting Salmonella From A Pet Bearded Dragon?

what are the risks of contracting salminella from my my bearded dragon. i have children, nieces, nephews, and i am concerned? i work at a pre-school which housed this pet Prince for more than five years, without any incident, but now the state has come in, and demanded the reptile be removed from the day care, thus i now own a rescue bearded dragon. the reason they say it needed to be removed is the risk of salminella poisening. i am a bit nervous, so i am asking. thank you very much for your time, sincerely, bonnie

Hi,

There is no fear to get salmonella from your pet unless you came in contact with the feces of the animal. Do not worry.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
