Is There Any Side Effect Of Taking Benazepril For Pressure?

I am 51. To be 52 March taking blood pressure medicine as of sept 18 this year 20 mgs of Benazepril generic of lotensin. No problems seemed to work well. But I have developed pain in hands at night not severe but must open and close hands and numbness both hands I take no other meds. Could it be the Benazapril?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

All medications have potential side effects that may or may not occur.

Benazepril is rarely associated with nerve related sensations (paresthesia) such as numbness but it is not usually associated with pain though everyone can react differently to medication.

You should speak to your doctor to see if you can have a trial off the medication (using something else to cover your blood pressure).
He or she may also want to assess for another cause eg (1)autoimmune disease (lupus, RA),
(2) infection,
(3) vitamin b12 oro folate deficiency,
(4)trauma,
(5) liver or kidney disease

I hope this helps
