Is There Any Side Effects For Selsun?

Hi there i have pityriasis and was told by my doctor to use selsun, while using the product i get a burning sensation and then after i have washed and dryed off it becomes extremely itchy to the point i itch until i bleed is this a side affect or allergic reation to selsun or just symptoms of the skin condition??
