Diabetologist 's  Response
dear friend,
metformin can sometimes upset your stomach but it is not dangerous you can have mebeverine along for that which is the safest possible medicine available. but yes the better regimes are available like dpp4 inhibitors or GLP analogue or SGLT2 inhibitors(pioglifozine) which are very helpful in the management of diabetes. i recommend you should consult endocrinologist to set your alternate regime.
i hope my answer serves your question
thanks
