Is There Any Treatment For Hyperthecosis Other Than Removal Of Ovaries?
I am 66 female with 3 children. Menopausal for 18 years. I have had testosterone levels of over 12 (free) for 4 years. Today I was told I have hyperthecosis (through elimination of other possible causes.) The doctor sad I should have ovaries removed. Are there any other treatments?
Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum. If hyperthecosis is left like that, may lead to excess of testosteron, the virilism, and hyper insulinemia. Though there are medical treatments they are unpredictable, hence bilateral oophorectomy is the only alternative in this case. Take more of green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts, and protein rich foods to hasten the recovery. Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
