Is There Any Treatment To Prevent HIV

hi my name is diana.Im 23 years old . 150 lbs. 3 days ago i had unprotected oral sex with a guy i dont even know that much , he said he is hiv negative but im still nervous about it cause i cant know that for sure. i have some anxiety simtoms right now , cause i have to wait 3 months to get tested but i want to know if i could do something to prevent to be hiv possitive like taking pills or something or i just have to wait 3 months and do nothing. please help. thanks

thank you for query.chance of transmission of HIV by oral route is very very rare. but for relieving anxiety PCR (RNA-PCR)can be positive as early as post 3 days exposure .It is highly specific test (99%) for HIV.you can take it after 10 days of exposure for accurate results.You can consult doctor for post exposure prophylaxis with antiretroviral drugs .it should be preferably be taken within 3 days of exposure.You can get back to me for any clarifications .Dr Bharatesh D Basti Dermatologist and Venereologist
