Is There Anything To Worry About The Change In Rhythm Of Heart Beat?

I have been experiencing a stutter in my heart's rhythm. It will beat rapidly and out of rhythm at first, and then it actually stops beating for up to 5 full seconds. After that, the rhythm returns to normal. How concerned should I be about this? What, if anything, can I do to prevent this from happening again? I am a CMA, however I have no education on matters like these and I seriously am scared...

Sincerely,

Cardiologist 's  Response
Dear friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

The first step is to see a Cardiologist and get yourself examined…
EKG / HOLTER (24 to 48 hour ambulatory monitoring) / ECHOcardiogram / TMT (Treadmill exercise ECG) / LABORATORY work-up – may all be necessary for further assessment and assistance.
You may even need Electro Physiological Studies (EPS)
The treating doctor may suggest them depending on need, based on his assessment of the situation.

Good luck
Take care
Wishing all well
God bless
