Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is There Connection Between Tooth Pain, Headache And Neck Pain Be Related?
I have severe tooth pain, left side mostly upper. 8/10 on pain scale, coupled with headaches, left side and going into the left ear. Neck pain from whiplash back in Dec. Can they be related? Had numerous xrays from Dentist. Everything shows up as OK.
As per your complain if there is pain in a single tooth that then it can be related to tooth infection/decay and pain in ear and headache can be radiating pain from the tooth. Secondly if the pain is generalized on left side of upper jaw then it can be probably due to nerve related problem. Whiplash injury to the neck can also cause nerve related pain.
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get a re-evaluation done for the exact cause and nature of pain. In case if nerve related pain is suspected then you can be advised to consult a Neurophysician and x rays ad MRI's can can help in diagnosis. As of now to relieve pain you can take narcotic painkillers like Tramadol.
Hope this information helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thanks and regards, Dr. Honey Nandwani Arora
