Is There Interaction Between Zostavax And Stelara?

I would like to get a shingles shot. I am 80 yo, and I had chickenpox as a child. However, I am taking an injectable medication, Stelara, to treat psoriasis, which I have had for some time. As you probably know, Stelara works by reducing the effectiveness of the immune system. It has been about three months since I last took a shot of Stelara--the recommended dosage is once every twelve weeks. Would it be a good time for me to get the shingles shot now? If so, how long should I wait before resuming my Stelara routine? Thanks for your help.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

You can safely take Zostavax and Sterela together, it will not interact with each other or affect the efficacy of one another.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
