Is There Something To Be Worried About The Discharge After Stillbirth?

I had a stillbirth 2 weeks ago. Had a very serious uterine infection. Dr. gave me flagyl & augmentin x 7 days. Am now starting to feel "pressure & discomfort" but not cramps in lower abd. area. Still having slight bloody discharge & no foul smell. Is this normal or should I notify my Dr.?

Hello,
If your symptoms are on the decline as compared to earlier, you are definitely improving. Discharge can be expected to be seen for quite some time, but, if there is any foul smell or abnormal color, you should report the matter immediately to your doctor. Presence of pain in the pelvis, difficulty in passing urine or stool, or discomfort indicate pelvic pressure and the possibility of persisting infection; sometimes such infections may leave behind adhesions which can cause the symptoms. You may need a sonogram and urinalysis to rule out. Please get further help from your doctor. Wish you good health.
