Is There Something To Worry About White Layer Over Glans?

Hi, I am 22 years old. I am getting a white layer over my glans, and I use to clean it while I take shower by rubbing using my fingers. After cleaning I can see red patches over my glans as if my skin also got removed. There is a small itching feeling also. Please help.

It sounds normal. The white layer is part of the smegma that gets collected. Wash it gently daily with mild soap and water and do not rub hard but just wipe it by dabbing with a soft towel. Do you have extra foreskin? Usually this problem occurs with extra foreskin or prepuce. Let me know for further guidance by using our 'Fix an appointment' tool. Take care.
