Is Thick Red Mucus Discharge From Nose While Having Sore Throat A Cause For Concern?

hi doc, i have sore throat and sometimes got running nose. so yesterday when i tried to clean my nose , my mucus got some blood (thick red brown color) but it comes out from my left nostril, on the right normal color (green yellow). i did read some medical articles, some of the symptoms could be cause of highblood pressure or cause i blow my nose so hard or cancer? is that true?

yes, you are true, thick red mucus discharge could be due to high blood pressure and due to picking and rubbing of nose again and again and it cause irritation and sometimes people with sinusitis may get bloody discharge due to trauma and rubbing of nose again and again as they feel irritation while such infection.
but still you suppose to get consultation with ENT to rule out some serious cause as we have to be on safe side and do not miss any serious causes.
