Is This OK For Moving My Mom Just After 7 Days To Nursing Home, After A Stroke?
Moving my mom just after 7 days to nursing home, after a stroke? ,her right side of the brain, alot of the right side, But she responds on command! crying, sqeezes hand, moving leg up and down.. one ??? I think it's because she's on medicad... Can I make them keep her at this stroke unit to get the care my mom deserves.... i know she needs to go to nursing home, i just think she needs the care at the stroke unit a little longer like everyone iv seen with good insurance???? doesen't she deserve a chance if she is responsive??????
Sometimes family members read more into their parent's condition then there actually is. Believe me I empathize with you and even though I spent years in the medical field I couldn't separate myself from the way I felt about Mom's care. I was sure I was seeing her do more and respond more then she actually was.
She may be responsive but it may not be in a way that is really going to be helpful to her condition. I have seen people with fantastic insurance being kept in the stroke units and they don't get any better any faster then those who have no insurance. I'm sorry and it may be hard to admit, but she may just need to go to the nursing home now.
Hi,
Thanks for query,
As your mom admitted in nursing home and they diagnosed stroke, investigated and started proper treatment.
Recovery from stroke is slow process and time taking and now no further addition in the treatment and observation require so they gave discharge.
Now physiotherapy and follow up is require.
Ok and bye.
