Is This A Miscarriage When There Is No Fetal Pole Seen At 6 Weeks Of Pregnancy?
I already had one miscarriage, I conceive again I was on letrozole capsule and HCG shot....HCG was given on 14 day of period, now at 6 week of pregnancy no fetal pole is seen...... should I consider this also as a miscarriage??? Chances of pregnancy progressing only when periods were irregular but this is not in my case kindly guide me
Not seeing a fetal pole at exactly 6 weeks does not always mean miscarriage. Many normal pregnancies aren’t that developed yet. Fetal pole and heartbeat are more commonly seen around 6.5–7 weeks. Sometimes, it can be seen even later if ovulation was delayed. Miscarriage cannot be confirmed based on only one scan. Get a repeat ultrasound in 7–10 days to see if a fetal pole or heartbeat appears. Also, get beta-hCG blood tests done to check if hormone levels are rising appropriately.
You need a careful monitoring by your gynecologist. Having had a prior miscarriage increases anxiety but do not worry. It does not mean this pregnancy will end the same way.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
