Is Throbbing, Burning And Discolored Shin After A Fall A Cause For Concern?

Last Saturday I fell down the steps at the university and bruised my shin. It is not too discolored, but it burns and throbs. It seems like it should be feeling better after 7 days, but it is not. I am not having any trouble walking, but am in pain even when I am not active (i.e. sitting). Should I go in to see a doctor; is there anything I should be concerned about or will it just take time to heal? Thank you!

Brief answer
it could be hair line fracture or a periosteal reaction of tibia

Detailed answer
I have gone through your query I think I have a better answer to help you out
In my opinion it could be due to hair line fracture or a periosteal reaction of tibia, you are still in pain even after 7 days its a matter of concern
please get an X ray done rule out both the possibilities

meanwhile heave tab acetaminophen for pain relief, apply some ice packs and crepe bandage
keep your movement restricted.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help
wish you good health
